President Claudia Sheinbaum presented her First Government Report address, highlighting the consolidation of the national transformation project initiated by Andrés Manuel López Obrador.

At an event that brought together representatives from all sectors, Sheinbaum emphasized that the current administration is guided by humanistic and democratic principles, with social well-being and citizen participation at the center of the agenda.

During her address, the president highlighted the record investment of 850 billion pesos in social programs, benefiting more than 32 million families across the country by 2025.

Her administration’s innovations include new strategies such as the Women’s Well-being Pension, which will support three million Mexican women, the Rita Cetina Scholarship for high school students, and the House-to-House Health program, which will provide medical care to seniors and people with disabilities, thanks to the work of 20,000 healthcare professionals.

Economic boost and regional development

Sheinbaum noted that federal revenues reached 5.9 trillion pesos, surpassing the previous year and reflecting a strong and growing economy.

Foreign direct investment reached an all-time high, surpassing $36 billion in the first half of the year.

The Mexican peso remains stable, with a value below 19 pesos to the dollar, and unemployment is among the lowest in the world at 2.7%.

Annual inflation is under control, and the minimum wage has increased by 12%, achieving a cumulative real increase of 135% for workers.

The president also announced the deployment of Economic Development Hubs in five regions of the country, the expansion of the Isthmus of Tehuantepec Interoceanic Corridor, and the construction of new industrial parks, boosting regional growth and job creation.

Security, justice and social rights

Regarding security, Claudia Sheinbaum reported a 25% decrease in intentional homicides and a 34% decrease in femicides nationwide, in addition to a significant reduction in high-impact crimes.

The federal government has provided funding directly to more than 20,000 Indigenous and Afro-Mexican communities, ensuring community participation in decision-making.

In addition, more than 10,000 hectares of land were returned to Indigenous communities, reaffirming the commitment to social justice.

Education, health and infrastructure for well-being

The president highlighted the creation of the National Baccalaureate and the opening of 38,000 new educational spaces at the upper secondary level.

The Benito Juárez Universities for Well-being and the Rosario Castellanos National University continue to grow, adding thousands of students to their campuses.

In the health sector, new hospitals have been inaugurated and the construction of more medical units is planned, in addition to the launch of hundreds of operating rooms.

The government is promoting the creation of affordable housing, modernizing roads, and expanding the country’s rail, port, and energy networks, consolidating people’s well-being and national transformation.
