In an event symbolizing a new era for the Mexican justice system, President Claudia Sheinbaum Pardo announced the opening of the doors of the Supreme Court of Justice of the Nation (SCJN) to the public, underscoring a profound change in citizen access to the judicial system.

This gesture not only represents inclusion, but also a break with the past, where access to justice was the privilege of a select few.

Sheinbaum emphasized that laws and rights must benefit all people, without distinction, and asserted that the SCJN has the responsibility to respond to the needs of the people, distancing itself from particular interests or privileged groups.

During the conference on the state of the health sector, the president emphasized that true democratic transformations emanate from the people, not from conservative sectors.

He highlighted the progress made in the distribution of medications and the strengthening of the health system through the Rutas de la Salud program, which involves thousands of people to guarantee the supply of medical supplies to IMSS-Bienestar clinics and hospitals in all regions of the country.

New facilities and projects in public health

The Director General of the Mexican Social Security Institute (IMSS), Zoé Robledo Aburto, announced the upcoming opening of hospitals in different parts of the country, including Zaragoza in Mexico City, Ciudad del Carmen in Campeche, San Alejandro in Puebla, Tlaxcoapan in Hidalgo, Navojoa and Hermosillo in Sonora, Guanajuato, and Tuxtla Gutiérrez in Chiapas.

These initiatives seek to expand coverage and improve care for the population.

For his part, Martí Batres Guadarrama, Director General of the Institute of Social Security and Services for State Workers (ISSSTE), announced the upcoming opening of Family Medicine Units in Nochixtlán, Oaxaca; Playa del Carmen, Quintana Roo; two in Tecámac, State of Mexico; the opening of the first phase of the Geriatric Care Clinic in Acapulco, Guerrero; and the General Hospital of Tampico, Tamaulipas.

He also detailed that construction of new medical units will begin in San Buenaventura, Coahuila; Arcelia, Guerrero; and Chetumal, Quintana Roo; and in Oaxaca, services will be strengthened with locations in Guelatao, Tapanatepec, and Huautla.

Expansion in medical infrastructure and logistics

Construction is expected to begin in October in Cancún, Naucalpan, Tixkokob in Yucatán, Rosarito in Baja California, and Hecelchakán in Campeche.

Work will begin in November in Cherán, Michoacán, and Tecate, Baja California, consolidating a healthcare growth strategy in several regions.

Highlighted results of the Health Routes

Alejandro Svarch Pérez, head of IMSS-Bienestar, reported the delivery of 28 million prescription medications to more than 8,000 health centers and 578 hospitals in the network. This was achieved through a logistical deployment that included more than 1,000 routes and 700 vehicles, distributing 11,364 medical supply packages.

Also present at the event were Health Secretary David Kershenobich Stalnikowitz and Undersecretaries Ramiro López Elizalde and Eduardo Clark García Dobarganes, who reaffirmed their commitment to the transformation of the health and justice sectors in Mexico.
