The elected president of Mexico, Claudia Sheinbaum, has announced the third group of people who will be part of her government.
This July 4, from the Interactive Museum of Economics (MIDE), Sheinbaum presented four renowned politicians and officials who will accompany her in her management starting October 1.
In her announcement, Sheinbaum highlighted the career and commitment of Mario Delgado Carrillo, Omar García Harfuch, Rosa Icela Rodríguez and Ariadna Montiel Reyes, who will join her team close to her.
“They are honest and professional people, committed to the Fourth Transformation. I am proud to present them,” said the president-elect.

Ministry of the Interior (Segob)
The first appointment was for Rosa Icela Rodríguez Velázquez, who will assume the position of head of the Ministry of the Interior (Segob).
Born in Xilitla, San Luis Potosí, on September 5, 1959, Rodríguez was the first woman to lead civil security policy in Mexico under the government of Andrés Manuel López Obrador.
Graduated in Journalism from the Carlos Septién García School of Journalism, Rodríguez has worked in media such as El Universal and Televisa Radio.
With more than 23 years in public service, she has held various functions at the local and federal level, and has represented the Government of Mexico City at international events.

Ministry of Public Education (SEP)
The Ministry of Public Education will be headed by Mario Delgado, current national leader of Morena.
Delgado, born in Colima on June 17, 1972, has a degree in Economics from the Autonomous Technological Institute of Mexico and a master’s degree in Economics from the University of Essex in England.
Since October 2020, when he was elected national president of Morena, Delgado has been a fervent promoter of the Fourth Transformation.
His appointment as head of the SEP seeks to guarantee equitable, inclusive and comprehensive education for the Mexican population.
Secretary of Bienestar
Ariadna Montiel will continue to lead the Ministry of Bienestar, a position she has held since January 11, 2022 by appointment of López Obrador.
Montiel, born in Mexico City on May 29, 1974, studied Architecture and Design at the National Autonomous University of Mexico (UNAM).
Montiel has been a key figure in the implementation of social programs aimed at improving the quality of life of the most vulnerable sectors of the population. Her continuity in office ensures the stability and effectiveness of these initiatives.
Secretariat of Security and Citizen Protection (SSPC)
Omar García Harfuch will join Sheinbaum’s cabinet as head of the Secretariat of Security and Citizen Protection (SSPC).
García Harfuch, originally from Cuernavaca, Morelos, and born on February 25, 1982, has a solid training in Law and Public Security from the Universidad del Valle de México, in addition to international specializations, including a diploma in National and International Security from the Harvard University.
With an outstanding career in security, García Harfuch has held significant positions as head of the Federal Police and director of the Criminal Investigation Agency of the Attorney General’s Office. His experience will be essential to face public safety challenges.
