Claudia Sheinbaum, Mexico’s president-elect, has called for putting aside differences between the federal government and states governed by opposition parties.

During her visit to Nuevo León, Sheinbaum pledged to collaborate with Samuel García, the state’s governor and a member of Movimiento Ciudadano, to advance key infrastructure projects that will benefit the region.

Sheinbaum affirmed that her administration will support crucial initiatives such as the construction of the passenger and freight train, the interserrana highway, and the water supply to Monterrey.

The president-elect emphasized that just as passenger and freight trains have been revived in the southeast of the country, it is now time to extend this development to the north, including Nuevo León.

Collaboration on Infrastructure Projects

During her visit to Nuevo León, Claudia Sheinbaum reiterated her commitment to supporting infrastructure projects essential for the state’s development.

She emphasized the importance of working hand in hand with the local government, setting aside party differences to focus on the well-being of citizens.

Among the priority projects mentioned by Sheinbaum are the passenger and freight train that will connect Nuevo León with other regions of the country, and the interserrana highway, which will enhance connectivity and economic development in the area.

Additionally, she committed to ensuring a stable water supply for Monterrey, one of the state’s most pressing needs.

Evaluation Tour of Social Programs

Sheinbaum joined President Andrés Manuel López Obrador on a tour to evaluate social programs in Nuevo León.

In her speech, Sheinbaum praised López Obrador’s high popularity as he nears the end of his term, noting that the support he received in the June 2 elections reflects the citizens’ desire to continue with the political and social project he initiated.

Sheinbaum also highlighted the historic moment Mexico is experiencing with her election as the country’s first female president.

She remarked that this is a “time for women” and reiterated her commitment to governing with inclusion and equity, ensuring that her administration will work for the benefit of all Mexicans, regardless of gender or political affiliation.
